How To Decide On The Best Bodybuilding Exercises For You

One of the primary reasons that so many people use personal trainers is that no one, no matter how stereotyped their body is, requires the exact same workout in order to get the results they want when they are at the gym. With each individual being different, what makes up the “best bodybuilding exercises” for that person start to differ as well. Sometimes it is not necessarily what works best on their muscles either - but more on that later.

Personalizing Your Workout

Tip #1: Find Exercises You Will Do

The goal of any “good” exercise plan for you has to do with what you are willing to complete. As you try out different type of exercises either at home or at the gym, one thing you want to pay attention to is whether or not you are going to be willing to continue these exercises in the future. If you find yourself reluctant to do one of these workouts - especially if it feels like such a tremendous chore for you that you often consider skipping it altogether - then you need to see if there is another workout that you can do in its place.

People that quit working out quit because they started finding excuses to skip the exercises they did not want to do. That is why it is so important to find exercises that you are willing to do and hopefully ones that you find more fun. It is more important that you will do an exercise than it is to find something that is more effective, because once you quit one exercise there is a good chance you will quit others.

Tip #2: Problem Areas

Another important tip to finding your best workout is to hit your problem areas first. This is a purely mental thing - you want to fix the places you see as problems because the sooner you can do that the easier it will be to convince yourself to keep up your workouts, because you will be seeing the results of your labor. Working out your whole body lightly without working out your problem areas is another reason people often quit, because they cannot see any benefits of the workout even though that is because they did not attack any specific areas hard enough.

Tip #3: Time

Finally, the last reason that people often quit their workouts is because they do not have time to complete the entire routine. The best way around this is either to find exercises that do not require a lot of time to complete because they hit various muscles hard right from the get go (powerlifting comes to mind) or to add a great deal of weight so that you can reduce the repetitions.

One common theme you will see in all three of these tips is that the best workout has nothing to do with how well it works your muscles - that is important, of course, but there are thousands of exercises you can do to touch each muscle. What they address is how likely you are to stick to your workout, because the truth about exercising is that the best bodybuilding exercises are the ones you are willing to continue regularly over the course of your life.
