The Future Of Car Hire - Cutting-Edge Technologies Applied To Car Hire Industry

Posted by Amlaspain in Cars and Trucks

When you think of car hire you probably remember the experience of that summer vacation where you spent an hour after getting off the plane trying to find the little mobile van so that you could retrieve the keys to something that resembled a fridge on wheels, before spluttering out of the airport in a foreign country on the wrong side of the road with one eye on the map and the other trying to remember how to change gear with your right hand.

Car Hire is the last place you would think, in this day of global warming and computer technologies, that would be leading the forefront of technologies to reduce green-house gases and such things but in a few cases around the globe it is the Car Hire firms that are taking technology by the scruff of the neck and producing some real results.

The obvious technologies that are being introduced are hybrid fuel cars. Whist these are greener in terms of green house emissions, there are still questions as to how green they really are. The cost of making the hybrid fuel ethanol has already led to corn production impinging on wheat fields leading to a spike in the price of wheat and the many foodstuffs that it goes into, bread, pasta etc. The case that we cannot afford to turn over our arable land in the pursuit of producing enough ethanol from corn to replace gasoline is a strong one. But as an issue putting carbon emission in front of the consumer, it currently is all we have. When we start complaining about the $10 loaf of bread we will know it has gone too far!

The lesser known technologies now being introduced however show forefront thinking. A firm in Boston is now providing a 24/7 car hire system called Zipcar where consumers effectively give up their car for a rental based on hourly use. Once the customer has signed up he can book a car by the hour and using a credit card style key has only to travel a short distance to pick up a car in his immediate location. The car is equipped with GRPS and black-box technologies which not only control the ignition but also allow the car to be tracked via satellite reducing fraud and theft. The company says that for every car that they employ up to 20 cars are taken off the road thus reducing congestion and overall fuel emissions.

In the UK, car hire firms in association with the local police are requiring bio-metric identification in the form of a fingerprint before you can register for your car. Whilst there have been some complaints by customers, the idea that has seriously reduced theft and fraud is the same argument being put forward for full bio-metric ID cards in that the innocent have nothing to fear and it is only those who have something they wish to hide that are being thwarted.

With many of us now thinking about our summer vacations to France, Italy and beyond it is good to know that at least one of the industries involved in getting us to our destination is thinking about our carbon footprint. It may be some time before we can vacation completely conscience free these days, but who would have thought that those companies that put us in those little deathtraps and sent us on our way into the abyss would be the fore-runners of the new technologies.

How To Clear Your Self Limiting Beliefs Quickly, Easily & Without Paying A Single Dime

Posted by Mlbr23 in Advice

Truly I tell you, there is a simple technique to clear all your self-limiting beliefs. It can be performed between 30 to 60 seconds once you have mastered it, does not involve any struggle, does not require any equipment at all and most importantly, is absolutely and completely free.

The only things that you will need are you mind and body as you are. You can perform this technique anytime you want - when you wake up in the morning, after a warm, refreshing shower, before you go to bed or even when you are sitting in the comfort of your chair.

This simple technique is actually derived from two methods. But don’t worry, this does not mean that you have to perform two different methods. I’ve actually effectively combined both methods to form a variation of my simple hybrid simple technique.

The two methods I refer to above are none other than the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and the Sedona Method. EFT was developed by Gary Craig as a modification and simplication of Thought Field Therapy. The Sedona Method, on the other hand, was developed by Lester Levenson. The purpose of both methods are similar in the sense that they help release negative emotions and limiting beliefs. While EFT works on doing so by the process of tapping on meridian points of your body, Sedona works by the process of self-inquiry.

As I have mentioned in my earlier article, the benefits of both EFT and Sedona include providing rapid relief from physical or emotional issues. In addition, they also enable you to tackle and counter procrastination, your lack of focus, clarity or motivation, worry, doubt, fear and disbelief and anything that hinders you from achieving your goals and aspirations.

All right, I wouldn’t keep you in suspense anymore. Here is the introduction to this hybrid technique which I will henceforth dub as The Simple Process:

1) There are mainly two parts to the simple process:

i) Identifying the limiting belief/problem/negative emotion

ii) Releasing the limiting belief/problem/negative emotion

2) When identifying the limiting belief, you have to ensure that you are clear and concise about it. Once you have done so, frame your limiting belief into a simple phrase or sentence like this:

E.g.: “Even though I {state your limiting belief here}, I truly, deeply and absolutely forgive, accept and love myself.”

3) Using two to three fingers of one hand, gently tap the 5 meridian points on your other hand while saying out loud three times the sentence above.

4) Next, insert the limiting belief you have identified in 1) into the following 3 questions:

i) Could I let this {insert limiting belief here} go?

ii) Would I let this {insert limiting belief here} go?

iii) When will I let this {insert limiting belief here} go?

5) Now, using two to three fingers of one hand again, gently tap the 7 meridian points on your head and body while asking out loud or quietly to yourself the above 3 questions as you tap each point. Once you are done, take a deep breath and then exhale.

And there you have it, my simple process. Please note though that it may take more than one cycle of the 5 steps to completely release a tricky limiting belief or problem. If you find yourself in this situation, repeat the 5 steps as many times as you like until you fully clear yourself of your limiting belief.

Guitar Lesson: Why So Much Advice On Guitar Playing?

Posted by Capotasto in Music

Is it good advice to listen to advice? What shall you do with all tips and suggestions on guitar playing on the Internet? Let me give you some suggestions!

How is it possible to write so much on guitar playing without running out of ideas? I have figured out some possible reasons for this.

People (not you!) are searching for quick solutions to long term goals, like learning to play guitar like a pro for example.

It is quite amusing to see all fitness equipment ads on TV. One might wonder how it is possible to sell that many products related to physical training every day. Is it the same people buying all new products or is it new customers all the time? I do not know but we can learn some things from this.

First of all, I do not think that is is something wrong with the equipment sold. Likewise it is nothing wrong with all advice on guitar playing on the net or in books. In both cases costumers are searching for something. Sometimes they are searching for something that doesn’t exist, like a quick solution to a complicated problem.

Well, sometimes there is a quick solution to a problem. More often you will have to work on a problem or on learning a skill over an extended period of time.

Maybe you have bought a guitar book and you doubt if it is a good book or not. If a good guitar book is a book that will help you to learn to play guitar it is probably a good book. The problem with books about learning to play guitar is that they must be used and you have to exercise patience in order to benefit from them.

Most probably the author of a guitar book is an experienced teacher trying to convey his teaching skills through a book. I am sure that he could have helped you better if he could teach you directly and be able to make an estimation of your level of proficiency and take your personality into account.

But that is not the case, instead you will be the one making the estimation of your guitar skills. And…you will be the one that has to keep going when the going gets tough.

You will have to work on the guitar lessons in the book not just browse through them. One at a time as long as is required to learn the skills and commit them to your long term memory.

Sometimes we are apt to listen to advice because we are seeking for motivation to do something. However, if our motivation to practice guitar playing is built upon buying new books and finding new advice on the net you will not progress the way you should.

Guitar students have very different backgrounds and personalities. Some guitarists can set their own goals and work on them over a long period of time. Other guitar players need help from a guitar teacher and regular guitar lessons in order to help them progress.

What advice can I give you based on the previous thoughts?

It is up to you if you want to buy guitar books and guitar DVD’s if you can afford these aids. The market needs buyers and I myself have a lot of guitar books.

However, you need to ask yourself some questions in order to find out what you really want to accomplish. Do you want to progress as a guitarist or are you more interested in reading guitar educational book and looking at inspiring guitar DVD’s?

If you want to progress as a guitarist you can use your guitar books and and DVD’s to help you. It might work. It depends on your personality and the way you learn things. I suggest the following:

1. Take a look in you guitar books or DVD’s. Choose one lesson you want to use.

2. Give yourself a decent amount of homework based on the previously chosen lesson.

3. Set a deadline when your homework is supposed to be accomplished.

4. Congratulate yourself if you can work this way! It will save you time and money! You will not need to pay for an expensive guitar teacher and can manage your own progress.

Even if you can work this way I strongly suggest that you visit an experienced guitar teacher every now and then. He will give you advice and will spot your weaknesses and he will encourage you to develop as a guitar player.
