How To ‘Set The Stage’ For Your Own X-Rated Videos
Posted by Aberez in SexualityDeciding to create your own adult video is difficult enough so the last thing you need to worry about is how dreadful the video may look like after you’ve ’shot the scene’.
This is a valid concern; after all, the video is meant to generate sexual arousal, right? You don’t want it to highlight the fact that the wall paper is peeling off (in the room where you shot the video) or that the dog ran across the video camera while you were in the middle of your ‘big scene’.
However, your also don’t need to rent a hotel room or may make any big expenditures to set the stage to making your erotic videos. All you need is a little preparation.
5 Ways to Preparing for Your Own Adult Videos
Decide where to shoot the adult video. Many times, people don’t like to be zoomed on while doing their thing in front of the camera. If you or your partner is like this, then you need to pay a bit more attention to the area where you will shoot the video.
For instance, if your bedroom is cluttered simply ensure that you do a good clean up of the room first before you shoot your video. (Viewing the video later and seeing baby bottles and kids toys in the background is NOT sexy at all.)
And of course, you’re not limited to the bedroom; you can shoot the video in your kitchen, dining room, living room, even inside the backset of your car! The most important thing is to ensure that the whole room looks good on tape. Besides, it’s hard to feel sexy and turned on in a room that’s dirty and cluttered, right?
Make sure you’re going to be alone. For first-timers, you may want to shoot the video alone. And just when you’ve mustered up the courage to do so, nothing can be more annoying (or embarrassing) than to have somebody walk right in the room! As such, ensure that you shoot your x-rated video at a time when you’re sure you’re left alone for a few hours.
Ambiance. Whether you’re nervous or not, ambiance plays a big role at just how comfortable you’ll be while shooting an erotic video. And trust me, if you’re not comfortable in front of your video camera, it will show on the video and kill the sexy vibe that you want to show off.
So, how do you create the right, sexy ambiance? Simple, put on some sexy music and light some scented candles. Just don’t overdo the candles to the point that it replaces lighting in the room (more on proper lighting below).
Also, most likely, you’ll be shooting in your bedroom so if you have silk or satin sheets, make sure you change your beddings to these.
If you plan to use props such as a whip, feather, strip of cloth, a pair of handcuffs, or even a sex toy, make sure these items are within easy reach. Although you can edit the video later to cut out some ‘dead time’, it’s such a mood killer if you need to go and spend time finding your, say, vibrator, when you’re already 15 minutes into the video!
Lighting is everything. Your adult videos should have that sexy quality. Sure, you or your partner (or both) are the sexist things on the video but let’s face it, glaring white fluorescent lights add nothing to the sexy mood. Using just candles in the room will result in hardly seeing any of you guys on the video too, while overcompensating with lighting can leave streaks of light across the video.
As such, you should give a few minutes to consider proper lighting for your adult video. The best thing to do is simply to test the lighting in the room. Create the ambiance you want (candles and all) and then videotape the room for a few minutes. Preview the tape and see if the lighting is too bright, too dark or just right.
If it’s too bright, simply closing a few windows or drawing curtains is enough. If the lighting is too dark, then turning a lamp on and then situating that lamp strategically in the room is often all it takes to get perfect lighting.
There’s a balance you need to make between preparation and just going on with the shoot. Just remember that you or your partner (or both) should be comfortable and that you want to look good on the video, hence the preparation. However, don’t overdo it that preparation becomes a real chore, thus making your attempts at creating your x-rated videos harder.
