Botox Treats Wrinkles And Sweating, And Also Feet!

Posted by Aaaronson in Beauty

Many people are using Botox to eliminate wrinkles and minimize sweating, which leaves the face with youthful look. What many do not realize is that Botox has other uses. Many have used it for other reasons, such as to decrease sweating or increase comfort in the soles of the feet.

Botox is a procedure that has been used by many people to reduce the signs of aging. It is a safe procedure that does not require sedation or anesthetic. Most of the candidates have unwanted wrinkles, which may become more pronounced with age. Botox is usually made of a botulinum toxin which is a reconstituted substance. The sterile normal saline that makes up is injected under the skin with a fine needle. The number of injections the doctor gives depends on the area being treated. For example, to cure Crow’s feet, this may require only five injections, but deep wrinkles may require more injections. The session usually lasts for only ten minutes and the effects can last up to four months. Botox is FDA-approved for individuals aged eighteen to sixty-five and it is relatively a safe procedure with minimum side effects.

Botox can be used to minimize excessive sweating. Many individuals suffer from hyperhidrosis, which is excessive sweating. The individuals who suffer from this condition have sweaty hands, feet or armpits, which can be embarrassing and can increase anxiety and stress. Some are beginning to use this treatment to effectively reduce sweat production. These injections can last as long as six months and can be relatively safe to individuals. Again, if an individual has excessive sweating, consult a doctor to determine if the procedure would be appropriate.

Many are using Botox to help their feet feel more comfortable. Doctors inject it into a patient’s heel, so they can wear stilettos and endure less discomfort. This has been known to provide more cushioning. Clients are able to wear three inch heels and feel comfortable all the time. Many doctors inject fat from other places of the body to inject it into the foot to add cushioning to feet with fat pad atrophy. The doctor usually injects the fat into the ball of the foot, which can augment the fat found around the foot. Some bones rest on the fat pad when standing, but when a foot is in a high heeled shoe, the fat pad changes normally. The fat shifts backward but now with the injections, the fat stays in place. The results can last for up to a year. These injectables have been used safely for many years. Before you inject it into your foot, consult your pediatric surgeon who has experience in this field, to determine if this procedure is right for you.

The best way to determine whether Botox is right procedure for you is, to speak with a doctor who is knowledgeable about the procedure. If done correctly, Botox can be used not only to decrease the signs of aging but also to reduce sweating and increase padding in the foot.

Plus Size Hot Fashions Keep Their Cool

Posted by Wakefieldma in Clothing

For the plus-size woman, the advice has always been the same: dress in dark monochromatic colors to “lengthen” the body and dress in layers to “disguise” bulges.
Sounds logical. Except in July and August when you just might spontaneously combust.

Here are some tips for curvaceous women on looking stylishly cool when it is super hot:

- Pick the right fabric. Linen is always right and is great this time of year Or, if you’re stuck at your desk all day and don’t want to be all wrinkled, then maybe a nice lightweight jersey dress. Everyone is wearing jersey now.

- Try shorts and camisoles. The city short can be treated just like pants by pairing them with fashionable heels and professional tops. If you wear a skirt and camisole while in transit to the office, you can add a little jacket once you are safely in the air conditioning.

- Dress in a dress. Loose, flowing dresses and tunics that flatter plus-size figures will keep you cool when temperatures rise. A few tips … if the dress is too small in your hip area, it won’t fit properly. If the dress is too big, it will look like a housecoat, not a fashion trend. Look for wrap and empire styles that flatter fuller figures. Dresses are especially meant for fun frolics in the summer sun, and there are so many options with sundresses, wrap dresses, shirtdresses. Also, sundresses are synonymous with spring and summer.

Oddly enough, dresses have become the simpler fashion choice. Rely on prints or embellishments like hardware, side ties, and belts to draw the eye where you want it.

For one thing, any dress in summer–or this winter, for that matter–can be paired with flats or ballet shoes. Chunkier, mid-height heels also are fine–stilettos and painful pointy-toed shoes no longer are part of the must-have fashion cycle.

Midcalf dresses over jeans or slacks are the very now way to hip up a dress. But all women must, of course, look for dresses that flatter their figures.

- Don’t be afraid of color. It’s an outdated attitude for a larger customer to wear black or darker colors. You can wear any color imaginable.

- Stay age-appropriate. Don’t go into a contemporary store and they try to get yourself into so called contemporary clothes. They usually don’t fit and it makes you look worse. Go for unconstructed clothes instead. They look better in this weather anyway. You don’t want jackets in August.

But if you really desire young and hip, try plus-size empire-waist dresses, wide-legged pants and mini-dresses with bat-wing sleeves.

- Below the knee for career wear. Hemlines that fall just above the calves are very flattering for full-figured women. A pencil skirt actually looks fabulous on plus sizes. It falls below the knee, and that line and that shape accentuate a plus-size woman’s curves.

Maybe the trend of cropped trousers is the way to go. Whether it’s a pair of flowing gaucho pants, a cropped narrow-leg pant or a pair of knee-friendly long city shorts — cropped pants are flexible, fashionable and practical.

- Fit is vital. Whatever big, beautiful size you are, it’s important to wear properly fitted clothing.

Try wearing loose-fitting tops made of lightweight, sheer fabrics. Throw on a sheer peasant blouse, tunic or kimono top over a lightweight camisole paired with Bermuda shots and espadrilles — and you’ve got summer’s hottest look, while you stay cool.

AGS Diamond Grading Report - How Do They Compare To GIA?

Posted by Worldgems in Jewelry

When consumers are shopping for diamonds they will often be met with terms such as AGS diamond grading report or GIA diamond grading report in the midst of their gemstone browsing. These reports are ones which are issued by two of the more popular diamond grading laboratories, American Gem Society (AGS) and the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).

These types of reports are requested by the jewelers in order to provide information regarding the type of diamond they are selling to the public. It is important to consider the characteristics of both diamond grading laboratories to determine if one is better than the other.

What Does the AGS Diamond Grading Report Contain?

The staff members at AGS laboratories review each and every diamond which comes their way and then institute a detailed report stating various characteristics of the stone. The chart which one receives from AGS will show items such as measurements, shape, style, cut, clarity, color, carat and dimensions. There is also a section on the grading report where additional comments relating to the diamond can be listed. The document lays out the basic details in a concise and forthright manner.

Differences Between AGS and GIA Reports

Some may wonder how the AGS reports differ from the GIA reports which are issued on these beautiful and brilliant stones. By reviewing the two types of reports, one can see that each contains some of the same characteristics as the other such as the 4 C’s and dimensions.

As for the differences, the GIA reports seems to be a bit more detailed in nature and provides the diamond owner with the exact scale pertaining to color and clarity. Both of these diamond grading reports allow the grader to include any additional comments which they may find pertinent to the overall review of the gemstone.

Are AGS or GIA Reports Better?

In the end, many may wish to know if an AGS diamond grading report or a GIA diamond grading report is the better one to choose. This is a tough question to answer as both laboratories meticulously scrutinize the diamonds and check for items which would be important to both the jeweler who submitted the diamond for review and the consumer who will ultimately purchase the piece of jewelry.

It may matter to some how long each laboratory has been involved with this type of business. For example, the GIA has been involved with these luxurious gemstones since their inception in 1931 whereas the AGS is a recent newcomer to the diamond review business having only been around since 1996. Although years of experience should only be one factor to consider in the grand scheme of things, it is something which should be looked at when choosing a diamond grading report which works best for an individual.

Ultimately, the choice of having a diamond reviewed by the AGS or GIA is one which must be left up to the diamond owner. A good tip for determining the best grading report system to use is to review samples of the grading document by both the AGS and GIA and see which is easiest to understand, most encompassing and highly detailed. Another thing which may help make the decision easier is to review the techniques of the laboratory and see which one produces the most thorough review.

The Real Anti-Aging Treatment

Posted by AnnaStenning in Beauty

Crow’s feet, frown lines, eye bags, laugh lines and forehead wrinkles are everything I dread about the aging process. However, like it or lump it, it is a fact of life and many will agree that there is very little you can do about it, even if you do lead a healthy lifestyle. When one reaches to a certain age, they begin to realise that the aging process is creeping up on them and this may send out panic alarm bells. Some would even go as far as spending out on expensive anti-aging products; there is still much to dispute about on whether these are affective or not.

The rich and the famous are able to afford wonder treatments that involve plenty of invasive poking and prodding in the face, and lots of chemical peeling. Getting a facial line treatment is like getting your legs waxed regularly for the Hollywood elite. This has only become available to the wider audience in the recent years; therefore, this has been a known secret for the rich and wealthy, rather than being something available for the average person.

It is understood that a facial line treatment will mean creating a big dent in your bank account, and then some extra for maintenance procedures. However, unlike anti-aging and line reducing products that you find in the shops these have proven to be highly effective in making the skin look refreshed and revived (albeit a painful process). One of the most famous of all line reduction treatment is Botox (Botulinum toxin). This is administered mainly in the forehead area, via small injections and put simply deadens the muscles in that area.

It blocks the nerve impulses, which are transmitted around onto those specific muscles, and so it prevents lines from forming. People who have had this done tend to feel like they are not able frown for a long while, as the process is aimed at preventing any form of movement around that area. The dangers of Botox, or on any facial line treatment, are not knowing which consultant to approach and not having the right information given to you.

People who want to go through Botox treatment will need to have consulted with a specialist and prepare before having the procedure done. One thing everyone should avoid is having the procedure done by a nurse, this should always be done by the practitioner/consultant to whom you have been in contact with, because he/she will know your medical history and will know how much to administer on to the affected area.

Another type of facial line treatment includes dermal fillers, which is hyaluronic acid (produced naturally in the body) in a clear gel form. This is applied by injection to areas where there are deep wrinkles and folds; it holds in fluid to the skin and immediately plumps the skin up to reveal a hydrated younger looking skin. These can also be used to treat acne scars, plumping up the lips and filling out other skin deficiencies around the face.

These treatments maybe expensive but they are extremely efficient at removing fine lines around the face, revealing a lasting youthful complexion. People who have had these treatments usually require plenty of recovery time before seeing the full effects. Many celebrities have treated themselves to this kind of procedure in a bid for eternal youth; one does not need to guess who these people are!

Anna Stenning is an expert on facial line treatment, having seen how affective the results are.

Understanding The Skin To Understand The Need For Good Skin Care

Posted by Askhim in Beauty

Skin care is vital to aging gracefully. We are all born with moist, soft, smooth, wrinkle-free skin. Unfortunately, time and exposure to the elements makes skin tough and dry. As we age, our skin sags and wrinkles develop. While there is no way to stop time, by practicing beneficial skin care, we can slow down the visible signs of aging skin.

The first step in practicing good skin care is understanding the makeup and processes of the skin. Consisting of three layers, skin is made up of subcutaneous tissue, the dermis, and the epidermis.

Subcutaneous Tissue - The inner layer of skin consists of subcutaneous tissue containing fat cells that are responsible for insulating the body. With age, the subcutaneous layer shrinks, contributing to sagging skin and wrinkles.

The Dermis - The middle layer of the skin is called the dermis and it contains connective tissues.

The Epidermis - The outer layer of skin, the epidermis protects the inner and middle skin from contaminants in the environment. Skin cells that travel from the inner layer of the epidermis to the skin’s surface flake off after reaching the surface. The epidermis gets thinner as people age, producing less collagen and losing elasticity, which leads to sagging and wrinkles. The sweat glands decrease in the epidermis with age, causing dry skin. Over exposure to UVA and UVB sunlight rays can further thin the epidermis layer of the skin, contributing to an accelerated breakdown of the middle dermis layer.

The first step to beneficial skin care is cleansing the skin to remove dirt, excessive oils, and dead skin cells. In addition to cleaning the skin, cleansing works to help prevent pimples and acne. Over cleansing can make skin dry by removing too much of the essential natural oils that naturally moisturize skin. Moisturizers help combat dry skin from over cleansing and environmental factors by restoring moisture to the skin.

Successful skin care requires a constant effort. A twice-daily routine of cleansing and moisturizing is most effective. By avoiding over exposure to the sun, a person can prevent damage to the skin by the sun’s rays. Applying a sunscreen when needed will help limit damage due to sun exposure. A nutritious diet, full of fruits and vegetables containing nutrients and antioxidants, will help skin stay young looking. Water is a vital part of good skin care as water hydrates the skin, cleans pores, and keeps the skin moist.

The best cleansers and moisturizers for a successful skin care routine include products containing natural, organic ingredients. Recipes for natural skin care cleansers and moisturizers make it easy to find the perfect product. Skin care recipes allow a person to mix up their own products right in their own kitchen. This ensures a person can tweak a recipe until they have achieved the recipe best for their own skin type. By mixing up the most beneficial natural cleansers and moisturizers, a person can ensure the daily build-up of dirt, oil, and dead cells are washed away and replaced with soothing moisture.

Cory Blanchette and his associates have specialized in skin care for the past 4 years and has produced a e-book that exposes the techniques on how to get your skin looking the way you want it to look.

What Does Alternative Clothing Actually Mean

Posted by Sparta in Fashion

How can you define alternative clothing? Surely, what is normal for one person would probably go down as alternative clothing in another person’s book. Stick ‘alternative clothing’ into a search engine and many of the sites listed will be for goth, emo or punk clothing so I guess, in the main, these would be considered alternative.

But alternative to what, or who? To a goth or emo, their clothing is normal. To my gran it would be laughable, to her gran it would have been a sign that you were ready for the funny farm. Yet today we have a world with an ‘anything goes’ attitude so you can walk down any high street in the country and see people dressed as chavs, Goths, punks, man from C & A, or walking floral creations that are usually someone’s grandmother.

You see, the problem is that as people get older, there are less of them. In turn, this means they are in the minority so surely that would make them the ones in the alternative clothing?

To me, alternative clothing would mean my going out on the town in my PJ’s, which I’ve always thought would be a good thing seeing as I’ve never subscribed to the fashion over function club. In fact, last time I went out to a nightclub, I swear some of those girls were wearing their night dresses! Yes, I know, that makes me sound old but I really don’t care, they are going to catch their deaths dressed like that!

So, what could you possibly wear out on the street that would now count as alternative clothing if anybody can wear anything? Clothing that looks like it is manufactured from rags has extortionate designer price labels on. To me, this is alternative clothing - alternative to eating or paying the rent.

Most towns will have a shopping centre that passes for the local hang out for young kids and here you will see plenty that passes for alternative clothing to the average person. With all those chains and pins it’s truly a wonder they can ever get past the alarms in any shop and equally as unbelievable that they don’t somehow become trapped together in what would look like a chain gang.

Of course, for some, alternative clothing would constitute some type of fetish wear. But then you have the strange people with enough nerve to go out wearing this clothing. Whether it be rubber, PVC or compete with a dog collar and lead - to some this is normal, not alternative.

For girls in their late teens, fashion dictates that they go out with the smallest clothes possible. Indeed, even my own daughter had bigger clothes at the age of seven that what she wears out now. So, here we have another alternative - alternative to actually wearing clothes that cover tomorrows washing.

Having had a scout round a few alternative clothing sites, it seems that, in the main, the goth and emo clothing sites have the top listings. But just how alternative are the products when compared to your average high street shop? Tight jeans for emos - isn’t that the fashion for everyone? Vivid colours for punks - again, a relative norm. T shirts and tops with rips - exactly what the jumble sales have been providing for years without the ridiculous price tags.

So, it seems the choice is up to you. If you feel conspicuous because you’re not wearing what your mate thinks you should be wearing, call it alternative and you’ll be on to a winner.

Fashion expert Catherine Harvey looks at the way alternative clothing can mean many things to many people.
