Information On Diet And Weight Loss Pills

Posted by KristiAmbrose in Weight Loss

The concept of obesity is usually blamed on genetics, but according to scientists and health experts this hefty claim is nothing more than a myth and really a plain old cop out. Nonetheless, we all know that age tends to put a few extra pounds on out body and if there is one thing we can’t “help” it’s the aging process. However, as we get older we can indeed control what we eat and what we don’t. If you sit on the couch every night eating bonbons and popcorn, then ya you are definitely going to be adding unneeded extra weight to your body.

Exercise and nutrition is a part of any healthy lifestyle. Some people just choose not to take the hard route and instead try diet and weight loss pills. Most of the pills out there on shelves nowadays aren’t like the ones there were 10 years ago; addictive, bad, harmful. Some of them actually do work, depending on which brand you choose and how you use it. If you overdo it you can harm yourself, but then again that goes with anything in life!

Recently I was searching around online and found a few diet pills and weight loss products that I’m going to share with you. Just remember to always follow the directions on these products:

Hoodia - In 1937, a Dutch anthropologist studied the San indigenous individuals in the Kalahari Desert near what is now the South African-Nambia border. He observed that they sucked the Hoodia plant before and during migratory hunts through the sand swept and sparsely vegetated area of the Kalahari. These hunters did not consume on their two to three day hunts; rather, they munched on the base of this succulent and it seemingly subdued their hunger and thirst. The San People have known about the attributes of Hoodia Gordonii for thousands of years.

Besides alleviating hunger and thirst, Hoodia Gordonii also provides a state of alertness but without the jittery feeling. South African scientists at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) discovered that Hoodia contains a previously unknown molecule that is believed to cause the plant’s appetite suppression. The molecule was named P 57. Although P57 is the only active molecule to be named in the plant, there are likely others not yet identified that give Hoodia Gordonii it’s beneficial properties.

Hoodia Gordonii has no known side effects and fools your brain into believing you are full. Experts believe that the Hoodia plant may hold the miracle solution to the current obesity epidemic. As scientists continue to research the plant to identify it’s active molecules, it is the entire plant that the San people have eaten over thousands of years.

Alli - Alli is more than just a tablet. It’s an innovative weight loss program that works with you, not for you. Alli can assist you in losing around 50% more weight than diets alone, but you have to do your part by changing the way you eat and live to see effects. Is the hard work worth it? Yes. With Alli you can achieve graduated and heart-healthy weight loss. If you do your part, Alli can teach you intelligent eating and activity habits you can observe for a lifetime.

Safety Information: Alli works in the digestive system and does not have a target impression on the brain or accelerate the metabolism; Alli does not heighten blood-pressure. Commissioned for employment by overweight adults in alignment with a decreased-calorie, low-fat diet, alli is the only FDA-approved weight-loss product available to consumers without a prescription, and it is the first clinically-proven over-the-counter product to be combined with an extensive support program. Ingredients: Each pill contains 60mg of the active element Orlistat.

They also contain the following inactive ingredients. Microcrystalline cellulose, sodium starch glycollate, sodium lauryl sulphate, povidone and talc. Each shell contains gelatine and titanium dioxide.

Acai Berry Juice - Acai berry juice is a dietary supplement that contains pure Acai berry juice derived exclusively from palm trees located in Brazil’s Western Amazon rain forest. These berries are processed through a unique maceration process that has been used for thousands of years by the indigenous people of the Brazilian rain forest. This process uses the entire berry which includes; the Epicarp, Mesocarp and the hard Endocarp.

These berries contain some of these beneficial nutrients; essential fatty acids, proteins, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, trace minerals, and also supports; healthy energy levels, healthy immune system, healthy cholesterol levels, healthy cardiovascular system, free radical scavenging, gastrointestinal health and much more!

One of the best things about these weight-loss products is they not only help you lose weight but also inches. This means that these products do not just get rid of excess fat but also shape the body, curbing the appetite but still keeping you healthy. The bottom line of weight-loss or preventing weight gain is eating fewer calories and try to incorporate a more nutritious lifestyle into your life. Also, if possible try to include aerobic or cardiovascular activities into your lifestyle. In the end you will achieve the ideal weight you have long wanted to obtain

What Exactly Is In A Weight Loss Pill?

Posted by KristiAmbrose in Weight Loss

More often than not people don’t like to exercise. It’s true; they hate the over strenuous activities, and they hate the boring sweat generating programs that weight loss programs often involve. In these cases for these people they often look for an alternative in which they can still lose weight but do it without exerting too much effort. With the invention of weight loss diet pills that promote weight loss, people go absolutely mad over the advertisements that most manufactures broadcast claiming that their product is the product to use if you want to melt the fat away.

With an estimated 60% of the American population that are now considered as obese, these “wonder” drugs are definitely reaping millions of dollars in the United States alone. There are a few key questions some people are asking though, such as; is there any truth behind the manufacturer claims? Are these really effective ways to lose weight? And if so, do these pills also help people maintain their ideal weight loss? In all reality there are diet pills that can shed off the fat you want to, and these pills contain ingredients in which are proven to clinically be very effective!

These diet pills are effective in increasing the metabolism of the body, thereby, initiating weight loss. Plus, these diet pills contain certain substances that suppress one’s appetite. However, with so many pills being constantly produced, finding the right one can be a struggle. There are five attributes you should consider when choosing a diet pill that is effective and also safe to use. Listed below I have named these five factors so that you can better decide what pill is right and what pill is appropriate for your weight loss and dieting problems.

Metabolism Boosting Activity -
When choosing a diet pill that will work effectively for your weight loss it’s best to look for pills that will enhance or “quicken” your body’s metabolic rate which allows your body to burn off excess fats. Try to choose diet pills that have alpha lipoid acids, green tea extracts, and L-canitine; these ingredients are clinically proven to promise weight loss through increased metabolic rates.

Appetite Suppressants -
Be sure to look out for diet pills that effective suppress your appetite! This doesn’t necessarily mean you will be skipping meals, but rather eating less foods during each meal. This will also control those “in between” means you sneak in throughout the day.

Calorie Stopper -
Because obesity is usually due to excess intake of calories in the body, which is more than the recommended amount, it is best to choose diet pills that have the special ingredients that will curb the entry of calories into the body. These substances are known as “phaseolus vulgaris.” This is known to create an enzyme that will efficiently control any excess calories in the body. The enzyme responsible for this wonderful job is known as “alpha-amylase.”

Metabolic Enhancer -
It’s best to choose diet pills that have lipotropic composites that are effective in eliminating fats inside the body. This ingredient acts as a sweeper in that it sweeps away excess fats outside the body. Lipotropic ingredients are often found in Vitamin C, chitosan, alpha lipoic acid, and green tea extracts.

Water Retention -
Water pills that are effective will often contain diuretics. These are ingredients that avert the retention of water in the body during the weight loss regimen.

All five of these attributes are clinically proven and incredibly effective when losing weight. Thought, you have to keep in mind that diet pills are not a sufficient way to provide optimum weight loss, it’s still important to also eat right and exercise. Even if you don’t want to exercise at least involve yourself in some aerobic or cardiovascular activities. With the right nutrients, diet pills and the right exercise you are clearly on your way to a healthier, slimmer you! Good luck!

Weight Loss Options For The Clinically Obese

Posted by Anutt in Weight Loss

Those who are struggling with clinical obesity are often tempted to turn to weight loss surgery as their first option. However, before you make this drastic choice, you should make sure that you have pursued all of your other options.

The Natural Way

The natural way to lose weight is to increase your caloric output while decreasing your caloric intake. Of course, this is easier said than done, and it does not lead to rapid weight loss. For some, losing weight the natural way does not create change fast enough to help with the serious health problems that come with obesity.

If you do try to go the natural route to deal with your obesity, you need to focus on eating fresh foods. Fresh fruits and vegetables should be a staple of your diet. You also need to eat whole grains, not refined grains. At least half of your grains should be whole grains. These help you to feel full and do not cause the blood sugar crashes common with refined grains. For your protein, choose poultry and lean meats. Eat more fish, as it contains healthy oils that your body needs. Beans, nuts, and seeds are alternative healthy sources of protein.

Increasing your caloric output is also essential to natural weight loss. If you are significantly overweight, this can be difficult, but even a brisk walk is considered exercise and will help. Make it your goal to spend 30 minutes in some sort of activity every day whenever possible. As you lose weight, increase the intensity of your workout. Keep it varied in order to encourage yourself to stick with it.

Weight Loss Drugs

Another alternative to weight loss surgery is taking a weight loss drug. There are both prescription and over the counter weight loss medications available. They work by either suppressing your appetite or blocking some of the fat that you eat from being absorbed into your body. These work in conjunction with lifestyle changes to help you lose weight more quickly. However, they can have uncomfortable side effects, so make sure you do your research before choosing to use weight loss drugs.

Weight Loss Surgery

If natural weight loss methods are not working fast enough and you are not able or willing to use weight loss drugs, you may need to consider weight loss surgery. However, this is only an option if your body mass index is 40 or higher. You may qualify if your BMI is 35 or higher if you have a serious health complication that is caused by your weight.

Gastric bypass is one weight loss surgery option. In this procedure, the physician will create a small stomach pouch by stapling the stomach and attaching the resulting pouch to the middle part of the small intestine. This limits both the amount of food you can eat by making the stomach smaller, and also the amount of calories your body absorbs by bypassing part of the small intestine. Portions of the stomach and intestine are removed, making this a permanent change.

Another popular weight loss surgery is the Lap Band surgery. LapBand is a gastric banding device that is placed around the stomach laparoscopically. It creates a small stomach pouch, thus limiting the amount of food that is eaten. Many patients choose Lap Band surgery over gastric bypass because it is far less invasive and does not permanently change the digestive system.

A third, rarely used option is a biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch. This creates the small stomach pouch and connects it to the last part of the small intestine, bypassing most of the small intestine. It is rarely used because it puts patients at risk of malnutrition when compared to other weight loss surgery options. If you are considering weight loss surgery, be sure to discuss each of these three options with your doctor in detail so you can choose the best one for your body’s unique needs.

Resources: Lapband weight loss surgery is designed to induce weight loss by limiting food consumption. The adjustable gastric band is the safest surgical procedure for weight loss, unique because it is adjustable and reversible. When learning about the advantages of the adjustable gastric band, be sure to visit the CIBO Weight Loss Clinic.

Taking Dieting And Weight Loss Pills Into Consideration

Posted by KristiAmbrose in Weight Loss

Reported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in 2006 97 million adults over the age of 20 were categorized as obese, and this isn’t even count for children! How do you know if you are medically corpulent or obese? Doctors use a formula that takes both stature and weight into consideration to come up with a standardized measurement known as body mass index, or BMI. The BMI is a dependable alternate way of measuring total body fat substance. Here is a little formula you can do by hand to figure out your BMI:

divide your weight by pounds by your height in inches squared

multiple the result by 703

The BMI for people at a heart-healthy weight usually falls between 18.5 and 24.9

A BMI between 25 and 29.9 is considered over weight (which is not the same as obese)

A BMI over 30 is considered obese. Well over 30% of Americans fall into this category and the increase of health troubles is increasingly dramatic. These dangers and problems can include such things as high blood pressure, Type II Diabetes, heart disease, and breast, colon, and prostate cancer. Also, obesity has been linked to mental health preconditions such as season affect disorder (SAD) or feelings of shame and low self-esteem. Health professionals say that even losing 10 to 15 percent of your body weight can dramatically decrease the risk of developing these difficult conditions. But what if you have tried losing weight in the past the natural way and you failed? Or what if genetics really do play a part in your weight and or your obesity? You aren’t the only one this has happened to and in a lot of cases people finally break down and try weight loss pills and diet pills. The point to this is if you are going to try something like this, be sure to check out reviews online wherever you can!

In some small cases diet pills can be less than good for you, but there are a lot of really healthy alternatives out there. Some of them are considered pills and others are considered something else. For example, the product Alli is supposed to be really good for you, it is even a lot more natural than a lot of other products out there and it comes in capsule form, but then you also have Acai juice which is a drink that you can consume which comes from palm tree plants in Brazil. There are also teas that you can try, standard pills, vitamins, bars, etc. In the end it all depends on what you are looking for, how much weight you want to lose and most importantly what ingredients are in the product. Make sure you either know your body well enough to buy the right product or talk to your doctor beforehand, or if you find something that is 100% natural go ahead and try it out.

I personally have had nothing but great results with the Acai juice, it tastes a little odd to begin with but it really has helped do what I needed it to do, which was boost my energy! Some of the products available on the market today really can help you accomplish whatever it is you want to accomplish!

Dash Diet: The No-Pain Diet

Posted by Tmoore in Weight Loss

A group of researchers from 5 major medical centers found that eating a specific diet rich in nutrient-dense fruits and vegetables, whole grains and low fat dairy can be a powerful tool in lowering blood pressure.

The Dash Diet(Dietary Approaches to Stop hypertension) was found in 1996 to lower blood pressure about the same as a blood pressure medication would, and since that time has quickly become one of the most often prescribed diets in clinical practice today.

The Dash Diet is recommended by the American Heart
Association, in the USDA’s 2005 Dietary Guidelines for
Americans, and is featured in the US High Blood Pressure Guidelines.

The Dash Diet Study 459 people were chosen to participate in the Dash Diet Study. They were randomly assigned to one of three different types:

* The “typical American diet”

* A diet with more fruits and vegetables, but otherwise similar to the typical American diet

* The “Dash diet” - rich in fruits, vegetables, and low-fat dairy products; moderate in fish, poultry, and nuts; and reduced in red meat, sweets, and sugar-sweetened drinks.

To assure they weren’t doing anything else that might lower their blood pressure, participants were asked not to make any major changes in the physical activity levels during the study.

Participants were weighed frequently to make sure their weight stayed constant; if someone gained or lost weight, they were given a bit less or more food to eat to get their weight back to what it was.

Salt/sodium intake was the same in all three diets -
slightly lower than the U.S. average, but still higher than what most guidelines recommended.

The Results Those who ate the typical American diet did not see a change in their blood pressure.

Those on the fruit and vegetable diet experienced a
significant lowering of their systolic blood pressure - The upper number, which is a measurement of blood pressure in the arteries when the heart contracts to pump out blood - but little change in their diastolic pressure.

But the men and women who ate the DASH Diet for eight weeks experienced a significant drop in both their systolic and diastolic blood pressure readings. Changes occurred within a week of starting the DASH diet, stabilized within two weeks, and stayed lowered for the remainder of the eight weeks.

On average, blood pressure fell 5.5 mmHg (systolic) and 3.0 mmHg (diastolic) among all participants (including both those with normal blood pressure and those with hypertension).

In participants with high blood pressure, blood pressure dropped an average of 11.4 mmHg (systolic) and 5.5 mmHg (diastolic).

These improvements in blood pressure are about the same as what can be achieved with a single antihypertensive medication.

There were positive health outcomes of the DASH diet beyond lowering high blood pressure. Most importantly, perhaps, the DASH diet lowered the study participants’cholesterol levels.

When blood cholesterol is high, cholesterol and other fatty substances collect on the walls of your blood vessels and in time restrict or block the flow of blood to your heart.

High cholesterol, which is generally caused by a diet high in saturated fats, is a major risk factor for heart disease.

The Dsh diet is low in total and saturated fat.

People who ate the diet during the study, dropped their cholesterol 14 points. The “bad” cholesterol (LDL) fell 11 points. The level of good cholesterol (HDL) also fell by 3.7 points (this type of drop in HDL is seen when people reduce their overall fat intake). Combining all the effects (changes in blood pressure, LDL, and HDL), there was an important improvement in overall cardiac risk with the Dash
Diet.

A later study was done at the Boston University Medical Center, which offered the Dash Diet in an online form to employees of a large US company.

Over 4,000 people enrolled in the Dash Diet program.

They received weekly email reminders to log in to the site for information on topics such as weight loss, exercise, reading food labels, grocery shopping and more.

They also were encouraged to track the changes they made to their diet, exercise, weight and blood pressure online.

After one year in the Dash Diet program, study participants had lost weight and lowered their blood pressure significantly.

They started eating more fruits and vegetables and moved from higher fat dairy products to lower fat versions.

After the success of the Dash Diet program, the researchers decided to offer the program to the general population online at Dash Diet

The reason the researchers think that the Dash Diet is
perfect for all Americans is that it doesn’t take a whole lot of learning.

It deals with real foods that are easily found in every grocery store across America, and allows dieters to choose how they plan to meet their food servings goals with foods that they enjoy.

Weight Loss Methods For Men

Posted by ColinTan in Weight Loss

Sliming doesn’t mean it is for ladies only. It is quite evident these days, with the slimming programmes and men cosmetics emerging from all corners. In fact, the biggest advantage of slimming for men is that weight loss is much easier for men than women because men have higher metabolism rates than women.

So you may ask, what is metabolism? Metabolism is actually the complete set of chemical reactions that occur in living cells. These processes are the basis of life, allowing cells to grow and reproduce, maintain their structures, and respond to their environments.

One of such metabolically active tissue is muscle. It requires a certain number of calories each day to maintain, therefore, the more muscles you have, the more calories you require. As your muscle mass drops, so does your daily caloric requirement.

Hence, it is very important for men who wish to slim down to pay attention to your gym sessions. The more muscles you develop at the gym, your caloric requirement and metabolism rate increases and helps you lose weight faster.

Here are additional tips for you to lose weight fast!

1) Cut back (Cut your intake of food to 3/4 of your normal serving size). Slowly reduce your intake of food. The more food you consume, the harder it is to lose those fats. For starters, just reduce your normal serving by one quarter.

2) Stay Away From Fast Food. The amount of flour and oil used to make these foods is enough to turn anyone off from taking them. These are high calorie foods that should be avoided at all costs.

3) Increase Your Activity Level (Burn off unnecessary fats!). Exercising is the best way to lose weight. The more you exercise, the more calories you burn.

4) Only eat when you are hungry. (Mouth itch is not allowed). The lower the intake of food is, the better it is. Remember everything you put into yourself is additional calories.

5) Set a goal (As the saying goes “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail”). Setting a realistic goal is very important, it gives you the motivation to go the extra mile. Use a food and training journal to keep track of your progress. It allows you to set targets and keep track of your weight and food intake as well as exercise routines.

6) No Soda (Loaded with calories, don’t be fooled by diet soda either). Soda or even Diet soda is loaded with calories. A lot of sugar is added to give you the sweet taste.

7) Drink Water (When? Once an hour. Why? Good for your body and complexion). Water removes the impurities in your digestive system hence unwanted residues can be cleared easily. Drinking water before meals also makes you feel “full” and prevents you from gorging.

8) Limit Alcohol (Ever heard of beer belly? The reason lies with the calories). Drink fresh fruit juice instead!

Does it seem like an uphill task to complete? I won’t disagree with you if you think it is. Weight loss is a process and not an instant solution. What you have just read is not a life changing plan, but a step-by-step adjustment to your current lifestyle. There is nothing wrong with drinking some liquor on a happy occasion. Occasional enjoyment is always necessary for our mental well-being. Do not force all these methods on yourself immediately or you will most likely give up within a week. Instead, set a realistic target and carry out everything gradually. Monitor yourself to ensure that you are making good progress.

Best of Luck!
