Start Developing Your Self-Confidence: Forget About Your Fears

Posted by Ilove2write in Motivational / Inspirational

Self-confidence development is a matter of knowing first where you stand. Your terrain must be clear so your brain will be given the paths to restoring your self-esteem.

You can not direct yourself to a destination if you do not know where your footing is. You have to know where you are before you even get to your desired point.
No one on this earth is perfect. How stupid of us to even think that everyday must be a perfect day.
That we must be flawless. That we should live our lives and not worry about a single thing. Who ever planted that dumb idea anyway?

People often chat rubbish. Whatever motivates them surely had some fine reasons to make them think that perfection would answer it all.

It is of course quite okay to be perfect. There is no harm if you can accomplish that, but the thing is, can anyone truly accomplish it? You are risking too much when you do. We are not saying that you should leave the thought of perfection and be all the way imperfect and leave your life far from the main road.

When your idea of perfection restricts you to doing what you are supposed to do, this is no longer becoming helpful. You are sure to be frustrated.

Sometimes it is good to fall flat on your face. Get up and fall, get up and fall. There is nothing wrong with that. This may have been an over used line yet we still can find value in it- “we learn from mistakes”. Yes indeed, we really learn from our mistakes.

It may be an painful thought to watch yourself jump and fall. But this is the only way from which you can learn and make you get over your fear of failing.

Failures are cruel but fearing your failures is silly. Failing is unavoidable, it is a part of our daily existence. Even the best people fall sometimes. And even the smartest and most beautiful people are laughed at with their thoughts and their actions.

Developing your self-confidence is no different. You must accept failures for you to know where your pitfalls are.

In war, a soldier hides because he still has hope that he would escape death. But he is a soldier. He has to fight and be ready to kill or be killed. There is only one reality that he can assume - that he is already dead. Unless he changes his mental state, he would continue to hide in ditches and avoid the bullets. But once he accepts that reality, he would start functioning as a soldier should be. He must accept the risks of failing and hope that by doing so, he has achieved greatness.

To improve your self-confidence, you have to take the risks first. That is, you either fall or achieve some great things. Failure will always knock at your door. But remember that the mere decision to stand and better yourself and your self-confidence has already made you a winner.

You do not need to be fearful to improving your self-confidence. Take stock of yourself and leave rid yourself of any negative thoughts. You may not be confident of yourself but your vision will push you to believing in the brighter sides of things.

The bottom line is, before we can truly start developing ourselves, we must forget the things that we are fearful about, especially the fear of failure itself. Once you have removed these obstacles, then you can begin revamping yourself with confidence-boosting thoughts and activities.

In the end, self improvements lie on clear grounds. Set your mind at ease, free from negative thinking. Free from thoughts that would only worsen your condition.

Champions Seize Opportunities Right Now

Posted by Cincysam in Motivational / Inspirational

There are many opportunities in life that we are faced with yet unfortunately most of us tend to miss most of them. Are you one of the people who wait and wait for something to come along, yet when it does it has been and gone before you have even noticed it? If so you are certainly not alone.

Recognizing Opportunities Which Come Your Way

Opportunity is often just around the corner but if we are not fully equipped to recognize it, we will never truly be able to take advantage of it. So just how do you know what an opportunity is?

Well often opportunities present themselves when you just do not expect them. They can be sparked through your own imagination and that is why sometimes it helps to carry a notebook around with you. If you are trying to improve your business for example, you can write down all of your ideas in a notebook and then look at it when you get a moment to see if any opportunities are present.

For example, if you are looking to expand your business and you have written that down in your notebook, perhaps when you read through it again you will remember seeing a business advertised somewhere local? It may sound like a long shot but it does actually happen. Opportunities are presented to us in all shapes and forms and our own minds are responsible for capturing them. It is then up to us to realize what they are and how we can achieve them.

Creating Your Own Opportunities

As well as waiting for opportunities to come to you, you also have the choice to create your own. For example, by socializing and getting your business name or simply just your personality known, you will often find that opportunities are brought to you. You may have heard of the saying “It is not what you know but who you know” and that can be true in various different circumstances.

So, by surrounding yourself with various acquaintances, you may just be able to get an opportunity that you are looking for. Generally by doing something which needs doing you are creating an opportunity.

Overall opportunities come and go into our lives every single day. We either simply lack motivation to take them on, or we just do not realize that they are there. Whatever the reason, we do have to start realizing that if we want to move on in life and be all that we can be, we need to start taking on as many opportunities as possible. Do not let fear or lack of motivation stop you from achieving your goals and taking advantage of opportunities. You can achieve whatever you want to if you put your mind to it and if you cannot see any opportunities then you can easily create them for yourself. Know what you want and try everything to achieve it. Write down goals and ways in which you can achieve them. Socialize and get your name known. Do whatever it takes and know that whatever you do achieve, was an opportunity which you embraced.

The Law Of Attraction Made Simple

Posted by Srana25 in Motivational / Inspirational

The Law of Attraction may or may not be magical, depending on your point-of-view and the experiences you have with it. It can also be argued that it is logical, but in a way that is beyond our current thinking, tapping potentials of the psyche that are seldom explored in familiar culture.

Skeptics argue that it is wishful thinking; but since it can be proved through experience, it appears to be a phenomena in its own right. However, to prove it, you have to suspend all doubt, because doubt is a thought that deletes the desired effect.

The best way to make it work for you is to align your mind, body, and spirit with your intentions.

The consciousness theory is that God is in all things and works through all things. We are all made up of this “God-stuff” that connects the entire universe together. This stuff is called “consciousness.” Consciousness is more than just thinking, which is merely an imagistic and linguistic representation of sense phenomena. Consciousness is the entire spectrum of awareness. However, all you need to create something is some elementary thinking. Your thoughts create your reality. You attract what you imagine and focus on.

The quantum theory is that all atoms in the universe are connected and influence each other. The observer is not independent of the experiment and through the act of observation changes it. Your thoughts send out a magnetic signal to bring about a parallel expression of your image.

How do you make the Law of Attraction work for you?

The process begins by deciding what you want. You should then visualize and feel it as if it has already happened. Finally, let it go.

Sometimes this is enough for something to show up in your reality. At other times, you may have to repeat it a few times. There are no certain rules about it. It really depends on an intuitive grasp of what works best for you.

Often you get approximately what you wanted. Occasionally, you get exactly what you wanted. And, on rare occasions, you get something better than what you wanted.

What determines the quality of the outcome is how clearly you claim it before it shows up. The clearer and more specific the idea, the higher the feeling tone, the more the conviction of it having it now, the better the results will be.

The time for it to show up also varies considerably. It could range from an hour to a year. Again, the clarity and intensity of your mental projection is what determines the speed of delivery.

There are other things, too, that you can do to get better results.

One is to allow your mind to dwell and focus on the idea and be open to new insights and to explore new perceptions. You can look for people, places, or books that will give you more information.

You get what your mind focuses on. The more conscious you can make your focus, the faster it shows up, and the better the quality.

When you project a desire and let it go, the universe goes to work to bringing that pattern into your experience.

Action on your part can help considerably.

Action does two things: it creates congruence with your thoughts and feelings, so all parts of you are in alignment with your desire; and, it creates channels for you to receive.

The Law of Attraction can give you everything you want in your life, but you have to be willing to work with it in an open and experimental fashion before you can master its nuances. It works if you work it.

Meditation also benefits your application of the Law of Attraction. Meditation provides emotional healing. A calm, peaceful mind has much more magnetic power than a scattered, confused mind. Our turbulent emotions are what creates difficulties in manifesting what we truly desire.

By aligning your thoughts, feelings, and actions with what is good, true, and beautiful for you, you can heal your life and improve the world. With the Law of Attraction, you can get the happiness that you deserve.

Do You Get Dumber As You Grow Older?

Posted by Srana25 in Motivational / Inspirational

You have brains enough to run a galaxy. What are you doing with it?

If you were to count all the synapses in your brain, pointed out Nobel-prizing winning neuroscientist Gerald Edelman, it would take more than 32 million years.

The number of possible neuronal circuits in your brain is even more astonishing:
10 followed by 1,000,000 zeros.

To put this into context, the number of particles in the known universe is 10 followed by 79 zeros.

Ironically, despite this enormous potential, many people not only discount the power of their brain, but they fail to keep it in shape.

The myth that the amount of intelligence you have developed as an adult is somehow fixed has long been discounted in science. Research now shows that the brain is plastic.
Just as when you exercise, you develop more muscle fibers, so, too, when you use your brain more, you develop more neuronal circuits.

When you learn something new, your brain changes. New connections are formed. As you learn more and more about a subject, the thicker these connections, until you have a trunk line and some level of mastery on that subject. However, when you discontinue learning about that subject, those connections atrophy.

This is why an adult may know a lot less about a certain subject than someone in High School, even if they had studied the same thing. The brain of the High School student is developing connections, while the adult brain is atrophying them.

Physical fitness is something you notice right away. You know when you are out of shape. You can see it, feel it, sensate it. With the brain, it is more subtle. You have a tendency to forget more often. You are only interested in simple books and programs because you find comprehension a challenge. You think learning new things is boring. All these are symptoms of an out-of-shape brain.

It is not necessary to be older either to have an out-of-shape brain. Many people in their twenties, fed on a diet of superficial conversations, undemanding media exposure, and a disdain for any intellectual pursuit, show all the symptoms of inefficient brain functioning.

Age is often used as an excuse to neglect your brain. Again, another myth is responsible for it. The myth is that your brain is in a gradual state of atrophy. Your brain cells like your physical cells are aging rapidly. Actually, even if this were true, there is such an abundance of brain cells that it should not even make any noticeable difference.

The brain is plastic and it grows with use. The older you are, the more chances are that you have built a significant neuronet of ideas. It is actually possible to grow smarter as you grow older because you have more associations built up in your brain and therefore it is easier to grasp something. You don’t have to start from scratch. You have internal references in place already.

Even after a neuronet on any subject has atrophied due to neglect, it can quickly be restored. Just as muscle-memory allows an out-of-shape athlete to get back into shape with exercise, so too does restudying your favorite subject quickly make you an expert at it again.

The most powerful youthing formula is doing mental exercises. Studies have shown that those seniors who play chess, card games, solve puzzles, or pursue an interesting hobby, not only have a great attitude, but they are also biologically younger than others of the same chronological age.

The idea that you get dumber as you grow older, it is just not true. Those who are considered “knowledge workers” are as sharp in their older years, then when they were younger. Einstein, for example, was still working out problems in Physics on the day he died.

In some older cultures, wise men are portrayed as old. They are imagined with long white hair and long white beards. In those cultures they understand that an older person has had more time to learn more things.

In Western cultures, older people are portrayed as senile. They are tolerated, rather than respected. This new archetype is a destructive one. Those who embrace it, even unconsciously, come to live it out.

Senility is a condition of atrophy due to brain neglect. This neglect eventually results in some form of physical manifestation, a variety of organic damage and dementia.

Senility is not a symptom of old age, but a symptom of prolonged neglect.

Getting your brain in shape is a lot easier and faster than getting your body in shape. Your brain does not tire and it grows fitter faster.

It is not possible to lead a full, significant, and happy life if you are in poor mental shape.
The good news is that all it takes to become an interesting, vibrant, and progressive person is to start to exercise your brain.

Discover The Secret To Changing Your Habit Patterns

Posted by Stvnfu in Motivational / Inspirational

Yesterday evening, my wife and I had coffee at the local cafe in Sri Petaling called “Kopitiam”. I thought of taking her to Bukit Jalil Park for a quiet evening walk, but it rained heavily, so we ended up here instead. She updated me on the activities of my personal coaching participants she spoke to earlier in the morning.

As she was briefing me, I noticed something was bothering her. My wife is engaged in a new business that involved telemarketing. She was confused; why was it difficult for the sales people to hit higher targets, she asked. Even when they hit the higher target once in a long while, they always seem to fall back to normal sales levels. Without skipping a beat I replied to her, “Habit patterns my dear!”. She looked at me expecting an explanation.

The mind is a marvelous piece of instrument. It almost automatically manages the whole body without your help! Think about it; breathing, pumping the heart, blood flow, etc, everything works on its own without any conscious effort from your side. These are done subconsciously. Similarly, if you have been thinking, saying and doing something over and over again for a long period of time, then that would also be regulated by the subconscious mind. This is known to human beings as “Habit Patterns”. My wife shook her head asking for an example. I smiled and continued.

Assuming a salesperson has been doing average sales for a long time. Then something out of the ordinary happens. For example, he goes to a motivation workshop, gets excited and sets a new higher goal. The new goal backed with his willpower of wanting to achieve the goal, breaks through the old average habit pattern and puts the entire subconscious into chaos. His breathing would be higher, he would eat less, find it difficult to sleep as the endocrine glands would be working overtime.

He would wake up early and go to bed late at night, while continuously thinking, saying and doing all that are necessary to achieve his goals. All this is simply because of the will power of wanting to achieve the goal. The adrenalin rush, the one-point focus of the mind on the goal, and coupled with the simultaneous working of Law of Vibration and Attraction, all these would eventually get him to achieve the goal that he had set.

However, this is only temporary. Once, the goal is achieved, the willpower also known here as conscious effort will reduce, and slowly the old average habit pattern (subconscious) which has been in place for a very long time would start to regain its place again. It would first start off subtly; for example, thoughts such as, “I have done well, so I deserve a holiday”, or “I am now the best so I can take it easy a bit!”, and so on.

The moment you take the bait, the old average habit pattern would start to firmly grip your subconscious system again and do its best to return to your average sales. The subconscious would now see that YOU seem not to be in proper order, and thus would slow you down, for example by making you ill by manipulating the functions of the endocrine glands (increasing or decreasing), and then ensuring that the proper vibrations are sent out through Law of Vibration and Attraction to attract problems to get you off from focusing on your new goals.

This could be in the forms of communication problems with your spouse, a serious error in judgment causing you to lose money, etc. This is mainly to weaken the new found will power to achieve the new goal; and all this would be done by the dutiful subconscious mind until the person gives in and return to his average sales. Then he lets a long sigh and says that his luck has just run out!

As I finished this, my wife asked how to prevent this from taking place, and to maintain focus on the targeted goal. Looking at her straight in the eye I said, “Persistence my dear, persistence!”. Every second, tens and thousands of cells die in the body and many new cells are born at the same time. This ratio changes as a person gets older. It takes roughly three months for the whole body (except the nervous system) to replace its old cells. In this way, the subconscious mind rejuvenates the body. In other words, you get a new body approximately every three months.

All a person has to do is to be persistent with his or her willpower for at least three to six months, and then the new goal would now become the new habit pattern, and the subconscious would adjust the mind and body to it accordingly. This new habit pattern would be programmed into the cells! That is how it works!

My wife smiled and nodded. We paid for the coffee and left.

Opportunity In Disguise

Posted by Jlavoie in Motivational / Inspirational

Recently, I listed to a speaker, who is native of Ghana. From very early in his life, this man set a course to come to America. It was the country he saw as being the land of opportunity. He was raised in a home with no running water. He had no shoes to wear. And, diseases were running rampant in his village. He learned about America from movies and set a goal to get there. He didn’t know how. He didn’t know when but none of that matter. He was committed to making it happen. It took hard work persistence and dedication. Today, he has realized his goal, and is using his wealth to give back to the community that raised him.

I wanted to give you a quick peak at his background because he opened my eyes. Being born and raised in a country of abundance, we often forget how fortunate we are. He shared some startling stats including the fact that more than 30% of millionaires in America are immigrants.

Wonder why?

We live with abundance and yet can’t see opportunity. Many of these immigrants come from nothing and see opportunity everywhere.

He talked about taking a job at university where his roommates would wait for a cheque from mom and dad. When you are getting handed out support, you don’t need to look for it. When money comes easily, you don’t work for it (and sometimes that means later in life you aren’t living the life of your dreams. Do you know how he describes the newspaper’s classified section? Pages and pages of opportunities. That’s what immigrants see. What do we see? Dead end jobs we’d never do or are too good/smart etc to do.

How many times has opportunity come knocking and you’ve closed the door with a polite no thank you.

How often do you see a big problem, not a huge opportunity.

When you are facing obstacles or challenges do you run from it … rather than standing up and facing the fear. When you face a fear, you have conquered it forever.

Maybe you need to shift your perceptions. Today, there are so many opportunities for abundance and yet so many people have their eyes closed to it.

So how do you start the process of change. Make a resolution.

Resolve to see opportunity where before you might have seen a problem. Take a fresh look at the world around you and revel in your abundance. The world has now, more than ever, so much to offer if you are willing to open the door and answer the call.

Your true opportunity might be in disguise … disguised as a big problem … see it for what it is and grab hold, don’t run away. You might be very surprised by the outcome. It might just turn into the biggest opportunity and one that leads you to the path towards your dream life.

Next, adopt an attitude of gratitude. Being grateful for what you have and appreciating the abundance around you. That’s the difference between immigrants and those raised here … we take everything around us for granted while they see it as abundance.

Maybe then we can learn to see our own opportunities through the eyes of those around us.
