Personal Brainwashing–Creating Success From The Inside Out

Posted by Dagger234 in Goal Setting

Private Kirk seemed like the last person you’d want in your army.

He was overweight and out of shape. He smelled. The kind of guy other guys like to poke fun at. Not what I expected to see at US Army Basic Training.

It took my friends and me by surprise when our drill sergeant named Private Kirk as our squad leader. Heck, lots of guys in our squad were more qualified. Did the sergeant see something in Kirk that we didn’t?

We soon learned the logic. The first thing I personally noticed was that his body odor vanished. He became more focused. Within a couple weeks, he took on a swagger.

Nobody wanted to laugh at him anymore. By the end of Basic Training, I would have been proud to fight next to this guy.

What changed? How did Private Kirk go from a geek to a fighting machine, almost overnight?

Simple. He was forced to play a role. Our drill sergeant gave him no choice. So Kirk pretended to be a top-notch soldier. After pretending for so long, eventually he started to believe it. He made everyone else believe it, too.

So what does this have to do with network marketing? Just that if you’re afraid of failure, then your thoughts become major obstacles. You convince yourself you can’t succeed, and fulfill your own prophecy.

Aren’t we all afraid, at least a little bit, when we first get involved with network marketing? I know I was. So how do we defeat these obstacles?

Following Private Kirk’s lead, we can pretend we’re already successful. As if we’ve already made it. This is the “fake it until you make it” mentality, and it’s extremely effective.

When you first start acting successful, it feels very much like you’re lying. To yourself and others. Eventually, though, you turn a corner, and something magic happens.

Not only do you believe you’re successful, others believe it, too. And in this business, like no other, success attracts success. Others will want to be in your downline simply because you’re successful, and you must know what you’re talking about.

Pretending to be a successful network marketer forces you to do things you wouldn’t ordinarily do. You stay up an extra hour to get things done, make that call to your downline, or place another solo ad.

Ironically, these actions lead to outward success as well. If you do the things successful people do, then there is absolutely no way you’ll not be successful.

Your tone even changes when you talk business. You now possess authority. Others find that appealing and reassuring, and you’re sure to attract many people.

The bottom line is this: You won’t be successful until you believe you’re successful. The really cool thing is that if you believe it on the inside, the outside must follow suit as day follows night. It can be no other way.

Napoleon Hill, in “Think and Grow Rich,” says that “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” It’s like planting a seed inside of you that grows from the inside out.

Like Private Kirk, you can turn yourself into a force to be reckoned with. All it takes is a little imagination, a little pretending, and a lot of desire.

If You Don’t Know Where You’re Going, How Will You Get There?

Posted by Dagger234 in Goal Setting

Sir Edmund Hillary did something huge. He climbed Mt. Everest. In fact, he was the first person in history to do so.

Imagine for a moment, a reporter waiting at the bottom of Everest when Hillary finished. The interview might go something like this . . .

“Sir Hillary! How did you do such a thing? Many people tried to do what you’ve just done and most have died. Why did you succeed when nobody else could?”

Hillary scratches his head. “Well, I was just walking along and saw this hill. I figured I might try to climb it, just to see what happened . . .”

As ridiculous as the above sounds, this is the exact way many marketers approach their business. I’m amazed at how many people have no idea what they want. And those that do, usually think small.

I’m going to let you in on a little secret I learned while becoming a clinical hypnotherapist. OK, 2 secrets . . . alright, you got me. Three secrets.

The first is that the subconscious mind creates your entire reality. All of it. Look around you. Your job, your car, your spouse, your health–all of this originated in your subconscious mind. Scary, isn’t it?

The second secret is that the subconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between what’s real and what’s imagined. This means that as far as the subconscious mind knows, your fantasies, dreams, and even your nightmares have all happened.

Another secret is that the subconscious mind tends to keep bringing you more of the same. For instance, if you’re always broke, the natural flow of things tends to keep you that way.

So, if you’re not satisfied with your life, how do you disrupt that natural flow and change course? It’s been proven that if you keep an image in your mind that, over a period of time, the subconscious mind picks up on that image and acts on it.

There have been documented cases of people making themselves wealthy this way. So how do we use this to our advantage?

As marketers, we can start by imagining huge things for ourselves. Why settle for a measly $10,000 a month when you could have millions? Why be satisfied with Everest, when you could have the stars?

Practically, this should take between 2 and 3 sessions a day. Each session should take about 5 to 10 minutes.

Now, I can hear all you busy marketers out there moaning, “Great, another thing to squeeze into my 20-hour day!” But it’s not like that.

In fact, if this imagining thing feels like work, then you’re doing it all wrong. This is play. Funtime. You should be smiling, or even laughing while you envision your wants.

If you do this enough on a consistent basis, your subconscious will pick up on it. You are essentially activating your mind to do the job for you.

How did Hillary do it? He became obsessed. He planned and thought about what he wanted. His first attempt at climbing Everest failed, but did he focus on that?

Nope. He saw what he wanted, and I’m sure he imagined many times how his victory would taste. Likewise, if you plant the seed in your subconscious, nothing short of greatness awaits.

What Is The Difference Between Yoga And Qigong?

Posted by Aperhacs in Personal Development

Are you tired of those tiny colorful pills that your good doctor prescribes on every visit? You might be wishing to find some alternatives for standard medicine for many reasons which may include side effects, huge medical bills, and time spent on every visit to the hospital etc. Fortunately you can look forward to techniques like Yoga and Qigong that take you much near to nature and holistic health.

Both the techniques concentrate on the improvement of individual’s health by following certain movements and breathing regulations. To a new person they might look same, but both are evolved in different directions although their purpose essentially remains the same.

What Is Yoga?

Yoga has its origins in ancient India and has been in practice for centuries. Yoga essentially means to sum up or to combine. To put it in simpler words it implies to connect oneself with the inner soul. When one does so, inner peace is achieved. This health exercise is beneficial for nearly everyone irrespective of the age.

People who practice yoga sit or stand in a position as told by the person who guides them while on the other hand some people do it on their own with the help of books and other resources. Meditation, slow rhythm, and positive thinking are the basic building blocks of this therapy. Any human being irrespective of health status can enjoy the benefits of the yoga. In modern days Yoga has caught the fancy of many and has even found acceptance amongst celebrities.

What Is Qigong?

Samurai warriors and fighters who took part in swordfights in feudal china often needed something to calm their unfazed minds. In their quest to find a solution they stumbled upon the fact that the body of a human is the store house of energy. They explored various dimensions in which humans can direct their energy and unleash it.

This technique primarily stressed the rhythm of the breathing pattern. Further on, this technique was refined and remodeled after various qigong masters.

People who follow this therapy are guided to swing their body slowly and gently as if they are in a slow motion dance. Qigong masters believe that energy moves in our body and if we could tap it then health and strong body can be achieved.

Conclusion

At first sight there are chances that both Yoga and Qigong may appear strikingly similar. Though they are quite similar in terms of result achieved, but the means that are utilized are slightly different in both therapy. In yoga, the practitioners try to attain the state of bliss along with the health; whereas in qigong, only the composed body with a fresh mind is the desired goal.

Yoga has the strict discipline of posture but in qigong modifications have been reported after every decade. Yoga has many stems specifically called schools of thoughts that derive their practice from the ancient texts written in the Sanskrit. This seals the authenticity of the Yoga whereas qigong was handed down by displaying it. So over a period of time many irrelevant postures mingled with the original. However what remains equally true for both of them is the fact that they both are quite effective in curing numerous health ailments.

The Difference Between Meditation And Qigong To Combat Stress

Posted by Aperhacs in Personal Development

Our fast moving lives, hectic work schedules, increasing individualism and highly programmed lifestyles are pushing us into the hands of numerous psychological and mental disorders. Stress is a pretty common term in the modern society and even the school going kids are found to be in grip of it. Prolonged stress can lead to severe psychological traumas, such as depression, that may ultimately result into a nervous breakdown of the affected individual. Thus, we always keep searching for various mechanisms to cope with stress, in order to deal with the ghost of it, like the age old trusted coping techniques of meditation and Qigong.

Meditation and Qigong rest among the most trusted stress relieving methods that are serving mankind since ages past. They boast a wide applicability in modern era. Both methods involve somewhat the same procedures and serve almost the same purpose, and at times may appear similar to those of a lay man. However, the two terms have some noticeable differences between them that need to be cleared up in order to make full use of each concept.

What is Meditation?

Meditation primarily has Indo-European origin and is designed to help the individual in getting into deeper state of mental awareness. It also helps in reconditioning our thought processes. The technique has been a trademark of several religious activities and in Indian mythology. It is often seen as a way to set up linkages with god.

The concept is gaining wide applicability in the present scenario and has turned out to be an effective measure for minimizing various day-to-day strains and anxieties. This activity largely focuses on revitalizing mental processes; such as, increasing concentration levels, achieving high state of mental consciousness, improving creativity and analytical skills.

Conclusively, it helps in attaining a soothing frame of mind. Basically, the activity involves sitting quietly on a place with focus on some thought or object and it doesn’t include any sort of physical exercises or movements. The traditional form involves chanting hymns or sentences; however, the contemporary meditation shifts from these complicated hymns to much simpler thoughts or laying focus on some physical objects.

What is Qigong?

On the other hand, Qigong is a Chinese concept that helps in collecting and distributing energy to different parts of the body. The concept is quite younger than meditation, and mainly deals with health maintenance issues. It is also gaining wide acceptance in China and other parts of the world for varied purposes, chiefly health maintenance, as a medical profession, or even as a form of spiritual exercise.

Although the technique primarily addresses physical health issues, some form of breathing exercises are also a part of highly evolved Qigong procedures. Qigong evens helps you in learning Chinese Martial Art skills, as it centres on the concept of optimization of energy channels within the human body and thereby helps you in maximizing the use of energy you possess.

Thus, it is clearly evident that the two concepts have basic differences in terms of application of the procedure. As meditation doesn’t involve any sort of physical work-outs, neither it has an explicit effects over the health of individual; whereas Qigong mainly hops around the issue of health maintenance.

5 Keys To Hypnosis & Mind Control

Posted by Aperhacs in Personal Development

Hypnotism, Hypnosis, or Mind control and the terms alike send are often alluring for many of us. Many of us relate to these terms though our knowledge about them from movies where villains are shown to control their subjects deviously by hypnotizing them.

Adding to this misconception are friends or acquaintances who boast of hypnotizing you.

Have you ever been hypnotized by a trained psychotherapist, not by just any friend who read few text from here and there? And had chosen you to apply his just learned skills only to result in mumbling a single lines repeatedly, “Oh just wait a moment, it will happen?”

Well that never happened, you see. Let us now take a close look at what these terms really mean.

Hypnosis

Hypnosis is essentially considered to be a mind control technique that involves psychotherapy which associates with mind and its working. Today hypnosis has been recognized by medical science and it main objective is to heal mind related problems and restore sanity if something is wrong. There is a long list of impediments that can be taken care of through hypnotism:

- Amnesia
- Pain in body
- Sleep related disorders.
- Identity loss
- Motivational therapy
- Psychological imbalance
- Personality disorder
- Removal of certain addictions such as smoking, drinking alcohol etc.

How Hypnosis is done?

Hypnosis is done on a person usually called a subject in the medical term by a trained specialist called hypnotist. A subject is prepared to relax in a comfortable position. The hypnotist then turns all his skills on his subject to induce him into the state of trance. A subject is given simple instructions. After 5-10 minutes generally, subject looks dozy. This is the first stage of hypnosis.

Further on, the hypnotist extends the modus operandi and makes the subject fall into a state where he is neither sleeping but not awaken as well. This essentially allows answers to come directly from the memory which is only possible when the subject is awake enough to reveal them.

Keys or Steps to Do Hypnotism

Hypnotism as it looks is not so simple. Few basic requirements such as Willingness and Co-operation of the subject, bond of trust between subject and hypnotist, trained background of the hypnotist, and most importantly the absence of pre considered notion about hypnotism are mandatory for its success.

Willingness and Cooperation of the subject

The subject’s degree of hypnotism is directly proportional with his or her willingness and cooperation. When a subject releases all barriers, then hypnotism becomes easier.

Some people believe that easy hypnotism is the sign of weak mindedness, but medical research suggests that it is all about the receptiveness of the mind. The mind which is easily hypnotized has more absorptive power.

Trust between Subject and Hypnotist

Usually people have fear or apprehension in mind about the hypnotist and hypnotism in general. They feel that their secrets can be extracted and used for blackmailing them. So the hypnotist has a huge responsibility of maintaining professional integrity.

Sound Technical Expertise of the Hypnotist

Quality of hypnotist marks quality of hypnosis. If the Hypnotist is the likeable figure and emanates warmth and love, then his work becomes easy. People are easily attracted to such qualities and let their mind loose.

Pre-Determined Result

People who are cynical in nature find hypnotism a mere deception because in their mind, they are already decided that they will not let themselves be influenced by what the hypnotist will say. The next step is up to you.

How To Awaken The Genius In You

Posted by Rarestone in Personal Development

All of us remember that when we were younger we had so many dreams, but what happened to our childhood dreams? Were we just mere dreamers building castles in the air or have we really lost our creativity as we have grown older?

Indeed, we have lost our creativity as we have grown older. We have become comfortable in our comfort zones and cannot think or imagine our lives being otherwise. We tightly cling to our past, and let it determine our future. In our minds we have created an image of who we are, of what we can or cannot do. And each day we live to uphold this image.

Somehow we have confined ourselves to what we already know, that is our past. And of course we cannot see it any other way. However, there is so much more we can do or be. The only limits that are present are those we have created or those that we believe to be present
Those who believe that they can lead nations do, those who believe that they can climb mountains do. Those who believe that they can write bestsellers do, and those who believe that they can dance do.

The difference is only in the mindset. The difference is only in what we can see ourselves do. You can be as creative as your mind takes you. When we were younger we saw many possibilities. Our perceptions were not rigid but creative.

However, as we have grown older, we have become accustomed to that which we know. And even though somehow we feel that we can be more. We dismiss these inner voices as mere day dreaming. Our eyes are quick to see obstacles. Our mouths ready to shout impossible
Even the people around us, do not encourage us. They pull us down, further reinforcing our limited beliefs.

However, for a moment be like a child. Set yourself free of these imaginary limitations. Let your mind run wild. See different versions of you today. See different points of view today. Think of something you would like to be or do. And really question yourself what is stopping you. Write these limitations down and really evaluate whether or not it can be done.

When you begin to question, you will realise that in most situations, the limitations are self imposed. You will see that the limitations can be transcended if just like a child you do not recognise the obstacles and are willing to give it a go. Just like a child forget yesterday, today is a day anew. Start afresh. Today you have been reborn into a new person. And today you can do, or be whatever you choose to be.

And that can only happen of course, if just like a child your intentions are pure and innocent. If just like a child, you know no limitations. If just like a child, you trust in a higher power. Never doubting but trusting.

Let the child in you awaken the possibilities. Be like a child today!
